The Mud - Eco Hotel

The Mud is charming, rustic, and wonderful! I loved sleeping in my own hut that had all the comforts I needed. The views are beautiful, the food was excellent, the staff wonderfully friendly and helpful, and I can't wait to go back!

Breakfast was very good, with a good variety of foods and for a good number of hours for every schedule.

It was not easy to get to a real BEACH where I could immerse into the sea water. True that I cannot go up and down so easily with rock and much stairs..... If I go next time it heas to be clear that I must be able to visit a beach frequently.

We had a great stay at this resort. We had a hut at beach front, but not directly on the beach, which gave us some sense of privacy. All staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies at the reception. We loved the hut/room, it was very spacious and we enjoyed hanging out in the beautiful veranda and listen to the birds from the hammock. The bed was also very comfy. Also, the restaurant served very good food and decent cocktails, and had live music in the evenings. It was easy to get around from there with taxi apps or help from the reception, which we could conveniently reach via WhatsApp. I had a massage there and it was one of the best I had during my stay in Thailand. This is a wonderful place to rest and get batteries charged.

If you are looking for a sandy beach to swim, this may not be your place. Also, the beach bar served drinks in plastic cups, which is not very eco friendly as we expected from an eco hotel. But we still loved the place and would come back.

Love the view, the palm trees, how the resort is all tucked in and around the tropical foliage. The view from where 'I live in a little hut with a thatched roof on the ocean in Thailand' - can't beat that!! Loved my lunches and dinner. Breakfast was good with fruit, choices, sometimes buffet. Staff fabulous.

Would have liked more choices for breakfast and less buffet days.

The breakfast were lacking in taste. The coffee was not hot. Staff were kind, but didn’t understand a food allergy within our group.

This was one of the big highlights of our trip - the mud huts are gorgeous! This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in and the fact that it's facing out onto the beach with a pool and bar area makes it 10/10. The views for the sunset were breathtaking, we sat there all evening watching it go down. The restaurant was lovely and they played live music during dinner, which was nice. There are so many areas in the hotel to explore, including the little zoo area where they have fish, chickens and ostriches! We would absolutely stay here again in the future, highly recommend!

Food was great (including dinner!).

I thought the mirror not over the sink was odd (trying to shave over a sink typically). Struggled a bit with the coffee grinder, but finally got it (although way coarse grind). The staff hung out at the bar by the pool and it was slow I get but then I felt uncomfortable ordering like I was bothering them.

While quiet, the location is a little far from the action. The bathroom design allows for creatures and critters to get in. The bathroom door was big and bulky.

We were allocated one of the rooms at the back which had no view and on both nights there were cockroaches ? in the room. Outside with all the plants etc there were also a lot of mosquitoes ?.If we stay there again I will be sure to request a room nearer to the beach.

Amazing design of the apartments, with a lot of beautiful and considerate details. It has everything you need and the bathroom and terrace are really beautiful.The swimming pool is great, with beautiful views. Very nice sunset!The restaurant is also super cozy and the food was good. It's a bit more expensive but worth it because of the atmosphere and live music.

The location. It's quite necessary to rent a motorbike to enjoy the island as the taxis are quite expensive in the island, compared with the test of Thailand.

The design of the resort was excellent, with the construction of the accommodation blending in beautifully in the natural surroundings. Although the resort was fully booked it felt very quiet and peaceful.

My only comment would be to suggest that an alternative to the plastic water bottles be considered in an otherwise eco friendly resort.

Nice breakfast, loved the rooms and outside areas to relaxing.

Comfortable and clean bungalow, great food, beautiful grounds. Family friendly, and safe. We stayed here with our toddler who had so much fun in the pool, and exploring the grounds ( they keep chickens ), wadding in the shallow sea water during low tide, playing at the sandbar with crystal clear waters just a few meters off the shore.

We spent one night so we could catch a flight and the service was amazing. Food and location was beautiful! Beam has to be one of the friendliest staff ever, she was so nice and super positive. Thank you for everything!

The restaurant had great food and lots of options. Beautiful beach and staff.

It would be great to have a water filter to be able to fill up the water bottles to save plastic.
